HAB’s Khor Al Zubair (KAZ) plant is one of the largest specialty oilfield chemical manufacturing facilities in Iraq, strategically located in the Khor Al Zubair Free Zone. The plant manufactures high-performance specialty chemicals essential for oil production, drilling, completion, and production operations across the oil & gas industry.
The facility is equipped with modern blending and processing units designed for the production of high-quality oilfield chemicals. It consists of two stainless steel blending lines, each with a capacity of 15,000 liters, capable of blending both oil-based and water-based products. The automated PLC-controlled blending system, integrated with load cells, multiple vanes, nozzles, and a cleaning system, ensures safe, consistent, and precise production while providing the flexibility for future expansion.
The plant also features fully integrated production lines with a total production capacity of 100,000 MT per year, currently serving major oil drilling and production companies across Iraq.
A wide range of chemicals are manufactured at the facility, including corrosion inhibitors, demulsifiers, biocides, Barite, Bentonite, Calcium Carbonate, Walnut Shell, Hematite, among other products. All products are manufactured in accordance with the highest international specifications and comply with API and ASTM standards.
In addition to its in-house manufacturing capabilities, HAB sources specialty chemicals that are not produced at the facility through its extensive international network of trusted suppliers and manufacturers.
