South Basra Integrated Project (SBIPRO) – Tuba Oil Field Development

The South Basra Integrated Project (SBIPRO) is one of Iraq’s most significant integrated energy developments, centered on the Tuba Oil Field in Basra Governorate. Developed through a consortium between Hilal Al Basra and Geo-Jade Petroleum. The project aims to transform the Tuba field into a fully integrated energy hub, combining upstream oil and gas production with downstream processing, power generation, and supporting infrastructure.

Project Scope

Upstream Development

The project will increase crude oil production from approximately 20,000 barrels per day (BOPD) to 100,000–200,000 BOPD, while processing up to 50 million standard cubic feet (MMSCF) of associated gas per day through the development of production facilities, gathering systems, and field infrastructure.

Downstream Development

The project includes the construction of a 200,000 BOPD refinery, a 620,000 tonnes per year petrochemical complex, and a 520,000 tonnes per year fertilizer plant, establishing an integrated downstream industrial complex that supports Iraq’s long-term energy strategy.

Power Generation & Renewable Energy

SBIPRO incorporates 1,200 MW of power generation capacity, consisting of an 800 MW thermal power plant and a 400 MW solar power plant, supporting both field operations and Iraq’s national electricity network.

Strategic Significance

As one of Iraq’s largest integrated energy investments, SBIPRO represents a major milestone in the country’s energy sector. By integrating upstream, midstream, downstream, and power generation facilities within a single development, the project will strengthen Iraq’s energy security, expand domestic refining and petrochemical capacity, create thousands of employment opportunities, and drive sustainable economic growth across Basra and the wider region.

West Qurna-2 Integrated Field Management Services (IFMS) and Engineering, Procurement &Construction Management (EPCM)

The West Qurna-2 Integrated Field Management Services (IFMS) & Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM) project supports the continued operation and development of one of Iraq’s largest producing oil fields. Following the transfer of operational management by Iraq’s state-owned Basra Oil Company (BOC), field management has been subcontracted to a consortium comprising Bonatti and Hilal Al-Basra. The project combines integrated field operations, engineering, and project management services to ensure the safe, efficient, and sustainable operation and development of critical oil & gas infrastructure.

Project Scope

Integrated Field Management Services (IFMS)

Provision of integrated field operations, maintenance, engineering, inspection, HSE, and technical support services to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted hydrocarbon production. The scope includes preventive and corrective maintenance, asset integrity management, production support, and multidisciplinary technical services to maximize operational efficiency and long-term asset performance.

Engineering, Procurement & Construction Management (EPCM)

Delivery of comprehensive EPCM services, including engineering and design, procurement, contractor management, construction supervision, quality assurance, project controls, commissioning, and project handover. The project ensures disciplined execution, effective coordination, and compliance with international quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Strategic Significance

As one of Iraq’s largest producing oil fields, West Qurna-2 plays a vital role in the country’s oil production and energy security. Through the combined delivery of IFMS and EPCM services, the Hilal Al-Basra- Bonatti consortium supports the efficient operation, continued development, and long-term sustainability of the field while strengthening local capabilities and contributing to the growth of Iraq’s energy sector.

EPC of 48″ Pipeline (120 km) – Rumaila Oil Field

The project involves the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of a 48-inch, 120 km pipeline for Rumaila Oil Operations (ROO). The scope includes civil works for pipeline construction, civil works for station construction, and mechanical works for station construction, supporting the development of critical oil transportation infrastructure.

The works encompass civil construction, structural steel fabrication and erection, mechanical installation, pipeline fabrication and erection, non-destructive testing (NDT), protective coating, electrical & instrumentation (E&I) works, and in-house workshop support, ensuring the delivery of a safe, reliable, and high-quality pipeline system.

EPC Gas Flaring Down Project 1B – Supply & Installation of Liquid Ring Compressors and Balance of Plant(BOP)– Zubair Oil Field

The Gas Flaring Down Project 1B involves the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation, Commissioning, Operation, and Maintenance of Liquid Ring Compressors (LRC) and associated Balance of Plant (BOP) facilities. Utilizing advanced liquid ring compressor technology, the project is designed to recover associated gas, reduce flaring, enhance operational efficiency, and support Iraq’s environmental sustainability objectives while ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. The project
encompasses the complete supply, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning, and long-term operation and maintenance of the facilities in compliance with international engineering, quality, and HSE standards.
